These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all services, courses, memberships, and products offered by Happy Teachers Academy (“HTA”, “we”, “our”, “us”) through our platform. By registering, subscribing, or participating in any HTA service (“Service”), you (“you”, “participant”, “member”) agree to these Terms in full. Please read carefully before purchasing or registering.
1. Eligibility
- HTA Services are open to teachers, educators, and professionals aged 18 or older.
- Registration is personal and non-transferable. Each participant must register with their own accurate details.
- By registering, you confirm that all information provided is truthful and up to date.
2. Accounts & Registration
- Access to HTA Services requires a valid account on the HTA platform.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any activity under your account.
- Accounts may not be shared.
3. Payments
- All payments must be completed in full before access is granted.
- Payments are processed securely by third-party providers; HTA does not store full card details.
- Prices are subject to change, but confirmed purchases remain valid at the price paid.
4. Refunds & Cancellations
4.1 Live Workshop Courses
Full Refund:
- Cancel 7+ days before your first scheduled session.
- Withdraw within 48 hours after the free trial session (if offered).
- If HTA cancels or permanently reschedules and you can’t attend the new date.
Partial Refund (50%):
- Withdraw before completing 3 sessions (includes the free session if offered) but before the 4th.
- Cancel 3-6 days before your first scheduled session.
Course Credit Only:
- Cancel less than 72 hours before the first session (credit valid for 6 months).
No Refund:
- After attending 3 or more paid sessions.
- Missed sessions without notice.
Transfers:
- You can transfer once to another course or cohort before the 3rd session, if space is available.
4.2 Self-Study Courses
- Refunds available only if:
- The course has not been accessed, and
- The refund request is made within 7 days of purchase.
- No refund once course content has been accessed (viewed or downloaded).
- If HTA permanently discontinues a course, you will retain access to delivered content or may request a partial refund if content was not delivered.
4.3 Video Library Memberships / Subscriptions
- 7-day initial refund period: Cancellation within 7 days of purchase if no more than one video has been accessed.
- After 7 days or after accessing content, payments are non-refundable.
- Memberships can be canceled anytime to stop future billing. Past payments are not refunded.
- If HTA discontinues the membership service, prorated refunds will be issued for unused periods.
5. Access & Use of Services
- Access is for personal use only and may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
- Participants are responsible for having a stable internet connection, working devices, and access to required platforms (e.g., Zoom, ClassIn, BuddyBoss).
- HTA is not responsible for technical issues on the participant’s side that prevent attendance or use.
6. Content & Intellectual Property
- All HTA course content, materials, and recordings are the intellectual property of HTA.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or adapt HTA materials without written permission.
- User-generated content (e.g., teaching videos, assignments) remains your intellectual property. HTA may request consent to feature it for training or promotional purposes.
7. Behavior & Conduct
- Participants must maintain respectful and professional communication with trainers, staff, and peers.
- Disruptive, abusive, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal without refund.
8. Certificates & Records
- Certificates of completion or participation are issued only if attendance, participation, and assignment requirements are met (requirements vary by course).
- Certificates are digital and sent to the registered email address.
- HTA does not guarantee recognition of certificates by employers, institutions, or third parties.
9. Data & Privacy
- Your personal data is handled in accordance with the HTA Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
- By registering, you agree to the collection and use of your data for service delivery, certification, and communication.
10. Modifications & Updates
- HTA may update course schedules, content, or trainers as needed.
- Significant changes will be communicated to participants in advance.
11. Liability
- HTA makes every effort to provide reliable, high-quality services but does not guarantee specific learning outcomes or employment opportunities.
- HTA is not liable for:
- Technical failures on the participant’s side.
- Loss of data or interruptions caused by third-party platforms.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
12. Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of the United Kingdom, unless otherwise required by local law where HTA operates.
- Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of UK courts.
